The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee, Inc. (MLKCC) proudly announces Wayne Alexander as the Grand Marshal for the 2025 King Holiday Parade.

Wayne Alexander served as Board Chair of the MLKCC for over a decade, leading with vision, passion, and a deep commitment to honoring the legacy of Dr. King. Under his leadership, the organization expanded its reach and impact by introducing transformative events such as the Battle of the Bands, the Children’s Film Festival, and International Distance Learning with Students Abroad. These initiatives not only celebrated the richness of Dr. King’s message but also inspired the community to broaden its perspectives and embrace opportunities for growth and unity.

A true trailblazer, Wayne challenged the MLKCC Board to realize their potential beyond perceived limits, leaving a legacy of innovation and inspiration. His efforts have enriched the lives of countless individuals in Greater Fort Lauderdale and beyond, making him a natural choice for this honor.

As Grand Marshal, Wayne Alexander will lead the 2025 King Holiday Parade in a beautifully adorned convertible. Following the parade, he will bring special greetings at the Multicultural Festival at Carter’s Park, a vibrant celebration of community, culture, and unity.
